BOOK COACH
With 25 years of experience in publishing, I’m here to help you navigate your writing and publishing journey.
You’re a sharp thinker with big ideas, but you’ve never written a book before. You know you have a killer one inside of you, but . . . where do you begin? And once you begin, how do you keep going when it gets hard? (And it will get hard.)
If that sounds like you, a book coach might be the answer. I’ve worked with countless beginning and early-career authors, helping them write the book they’d been dreaming of. It’s my specialty!
If your book is still just a twinkle in your eye—or a flickering flame in danger of going out—take a look at my coaching packages below and let’s light that sucker up.
Let’s Go! (The getting-started package)
Whether you’re planning a nonfiction or fiction book, I’m here to help you with the early stages. We’ll outline your book, set goals and check-ins for your early drafting, and build a plan for drafting the rest. We’ll do this through:
An initial 30-minute phone call
Feedback on up to 4,000 words
Ongoing email support
A closing 30-minute phone call
$700/month
Keep on Rockin’ (The monthly-coaching-and-writing-support package)
Flexible ongoing support for writers who have already Let’s Go-ed or who are drafting their book. I’ll give feedbackand encouragement on pages and help keep you motivated, on task, and feeling confident. Keep on Rockin’ includes:
Feedback on up to 6,000 words per month
One 30-minute phone call per month
Ongoing email support
$700/month
Pump It Up! (Ala carte options for next steps)
If you’ve got a finished draft, you’re not done yet! Let me help you get that bad boy out there. Fees depend on length and complexity of your project; get in touch to discuss.
Manuscript evaluation: Substantive editorial review includes cover letter and manuscript comments all geared toward helping you write your revision. I’ll help you figure out your publishing journey, too (traditional? big house or indy? self-pub? hybrid?).
Full substantive edit: Everything you get from the manuscript evaluation plus a second round of edits on your revision and guidelines for moving forward.
Proposal writing or editing: I write a book proposal for your nonfiction book, including an edit of your chapter sample; or edit your existing proposal.
Query letter writing or editing
Submission management: I do the dirty work—research agents and editors and tailor your query letter to each one.
Marketing and publicity: After your book comes out, it takes work to find its audience. I can help you pitch and write articles, pitch podcasts, write newsletter and social media content, design contests and giveaways—even build your website.
